Encourage your advisors to join the Mentoring Program

MDRT has introduced exciting new changes to the Mentoring Program with a full rollout of the new online platform.

We understand the challenges facing new producers as they enter this business, and we recognize that a strong mentor can make the difference between success and failure. The revamped Mentoring Program provides a more robust structure and enhanced tools — with the goal of facilitating quality mentor-mentee relationships. It also includes resources to help with goal setting, milestone tracking, task management, data analytics and progress reports.

Our goal is to enhance the mentoring experience to drive increased productivity, engagement and professional growth.

SOME MDRT MENTORING PROGRAM FAQS

  • How much does it cost? Enrollment in the MDRT Mentoring Program is free.
  • What are the requirements to enroll? There is no production requirement. However, production must be reported by March 1 (for the preceding year) to be eligible to register to attend the Annual Meeting or Global Conference.
    You must also have a unique email address.
  • When can I apply? Enrollment in the MDRT Mentoring Program is open year-round.
  • How long is the program: The program is a 12-month guided plan
  • Who is eligible to be a mentor? All mentors must be current MDRT members.
  • What is included in the MDRT Mentoring Program? Mentoring teams receive access to MDRT’s Resource Zone, as well as monthly emails highlighting a piece of content that can be used for fruitful conversations. The new platform will include facilitated online matching, tools for goal setting and tracking, milestones and best-practice training.
  • How do I join the MDRT Mentoring Program? Enroll at mdrt.org/mentorship. Click on “Enroll in Program” and complete your profile. The system will prompt you and provide you with the best match for a mentor.
    You must also have a unique email address.

Top of the Table Virtual Event Advance Registration Ends Sept 23

Don’t forget: Advance registration for the 2020 Top of the Table Virtual Event ends September 23.

Top of the Table members can register now to lock in the discounted rate of USD 149. Qualifying Court of the Table of the Table members are invited to join a portion of the event on October 14 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. with the advance registration rate of USD 99.

Join MDRT members Matthew T. Hoesly, CFP, ChFC; Michelle L. Hoesly, CLU, ChFC; Jared B. Koelker and Thomas F. Levasseur, CLU, MS Ed, for a panel discussion about how they successfully partner across generations within their firms. They will address the challenges that come with working with someone from a different generation, how they’ve proactively defined roles both now and for the future, and why it’s worth it to partner cross-generationally, despite the struggles. In addition, they’ll share words of wisdom for those considering the possibility of partnering in the future and explain how to keep your commitments to your clients while maintaining a positive relationship with one another.

The discussion will be moderated by 13-year MDRT member Ted Rusinoff. There will be time for a live Q&A session after the presentation. MDRT members and nonmember are welcome to join.

July 20 Web Event – How MDRT Members Refine, Differentiate and Grow

Join MDRT members Elke Rubach, LLN, CLU; Kathleen R. Benjamin, CFP, CPA; and Marc A. Silverman, CFP, ChFC, for a panel discussion about how MDRT helps members refine their practices, no matter how many years of membership they have under their belts. The panelists will share advice they’ve received that helped them advance their careers. They’ll also discuss the importance of having a vision and being able to identify the unique deliverables they each offer, as well as the need for organization and appointment tracking, asking for support and working within a team. These early-stage, mid-career and longtime MDRT members will discuss what it took to get to their current level, what they are doing to stay there and where they see things continuing to evolve in the future.

The discussion will be moderated by seven-year MDRT member and Canada Community Leader Chris George, CFP, TEP. There will be time for a live Q&A session after the presentation.

  • Register as soon as possible. For the best experience, register 1-2 weeks prior to the event. To connect with other members who are tuned into the event at the same time as you, you will need to register early and then complete your member profile.
  • There are no “out of office” limitations, no travel restrictions, or travel costs.
  • Take everything you learn and put it into action right now! No need to wait until you travel back to the office, the productivity starts right after the session.
  • You get a month’s worth of Annual Meeting and Global Conference learning and connections.

Members Connecting

  • At any time, members can chat with fellow attendees through the platform.

Longtime MDRT members Paresh B. Shah, CFP, and Aurora L. Tancock, FLMI, CFP, will discuss strategies for connecting with centers of influence in order to create an increasing flow of quality introductions. Building relationships with centers of influence is an important part of growing a practice, but there’s no single way to do it, as evidenced by Shah and Tancock’s distinct experiences.

The discussion will be moderated by 40-year MDRT member and United States Community Leader R.J. Kelly, RICP, MSFS. There will be time for a live Q&A session after the presentation.

2021 MDRT Membership Requirements

MDRT understands that the current global situation has affected each of us and our clients in different ways. With that in mind, MDRT is announcing the 2021 production requirements with consideration for the groups below.

MDRT Members
  • 2019 and 2020 members: The production requirement for eligibility has been waived. Members who joined in either 2019 or 2020 can join in 2021 without meeting the published production requirement. Please reference FAQs for special rules.
  • Lapsed members prior to 2019 and first-time members: The requirements have been adjusted due to the effects of the pandemic.
